More About the Event

This webinar will explore:

  • The Catholic teaching on suffering;
  • The power and purpose of redemptive suffering;
  • The life and witness of Servant of God Sister Annella Zervas, OSB;
  • How suffering can become a path to holiness.

Who is this webinar for?

It is for anyone who wants to enter more deeply into the meaning of Lent, especially those who want to better understand the Church’s teaching on suffering, or who are discerning what God may be inviting them to do with their trials and pain.

Along the way, we will draw from the life of Sister Annella as a guide and companion, asking with her, and of her, the question, “What do we do with our pain?”

Why is the webinar presented now?

Lent is a season of penance, prayer, and conversion. Through fasting, almsgiving, and self-denial, the Church invites us to enter more deeply into the mystery of Christ’s Passion. As we do, suffering, our own and that of others, often becomes more visible and present.

In this Lenten webinar, we will explore how the Church understands suffering, and how Sister Annella offers a powerful witness to suffering, which she did not run from, but embraced in faith.
