Patrick Norton’s journey with Sister Annella Zervas began with a profound, life-changing experience. In 2010, while painting light posts in front of the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at Saint Benedict’s in St. Joseph, Minnesota, he paused to pray, expressing gratitude to Mary for the privilege of working near her statue and hoping he was doing a good job. At that moment, Sister Annella appeared before him, clothed in her full habit, and reassured him that he was indeed doing good work. This unexpected encounter deeply moved Patrick, sparking his mission to share her story.

From that day on, Patrick felt called to make Sister Annella’s life and message known, convinced that her story held special meaning for those seeking healing and hope amid suffering. His dedication drew others into this mission, creating a growing community of supporters who joined him in praying for her cause. Together, their shared passion led to the formation of the Sister Annella Zervas Guild.

Throughout this journey, Patrick has been supported by his wife, Sandy, his children, his friend John Groll, and many others, all of whom have been instrumental in carrying forward Sister Annella’s story and message. Great supporters and missionaries themselves, they have helped advance Patrick’s work and foster devotion to Sister Annella.

Patrick has been a unifying force, inspiring collaboration among supporters and preserving Sister Annella’s personal belongings, relics, and valuable family communications—artifacts essential to the potential beatification and canonization process. His devotion has nurtured a growing community of faith, inviting others to invest their time and resources into the inquiry into Sister Annella’s life and virtues.

The Guild, inspired by Patrick’s experience and the many stories of Sister Annella’s intercession and favors received by others, continues to grow. Patrick’s unwavering commitment supports the Guild’s mission to share Sister Annella’s story and raise funds to advance the canonical inquiry into her life and virtue.
